Who, How & Why

Ann Davison, author of The Feeling Shirt (TM) children’s book wrote the story to help her children understand how to identify and then with chosen actions, manage their feelings and also ask for help if they needed it in shifting their feelings. It was the start of not only emotional education for them but a whole way of helping educate school-aged kids and adults in the workplace about power dynamics and slowing things down to identify, respond, separate and boundary set in healthy ways. Ann is not only a mother, but a lawyer for over 20 years, arbitrator, and was the elected City Attorney for Seattle, Washington from 2022-2025. She worked in professional sports for a decade in sports management of professional athletes and in the front office of the Seattle SuperSonics managing basketball operations. Ann thrives in fast-paced, intense, complex systems and organizations with a need for decisive vision and action. Ann is known of her sleeves-rolled up yet very personal and accessible leadership style. Because she has worked in politics, pro sports, law and the hardest job of all, as a mom, she has had to navigate and articulate and work with, lead and deescalate high powered personalities that are not fans of boundaries. This is a necessary book for kids, a method for young adults entering university or their first workplace, but also for advance professionals on their own or in specific work groups needing to be on target for their collective work.
